How it Works
You will be fitted for customized mouth-pieces (Perio Trays™), which are similar to athletic mouth guards, and are thin, soft and comfortable.
After the measurements are taken, we send them off and an FDA-registered laboratory fabricates your tray to the exact dimensions of your teeth. Then, you will take the trays home and add the prescribed periodontal medication (usually in gel form, much like toothpaste) and wear them according to our instructions (usually for only a few minutes at a time). This gel sinks into the gum line and makes your brushing and flossing that much more effective. The hard calculus and tartar on your teeth are turned into a soft, chalky material that is easily removed by regular brushing and flossing. The gel also kills harmful bacteria in your mouth, allowing your gums to heal.
